Without doubt, the scoreline does not reflect the commitment and effort demobstrated by a battling Waunarlwydd team! Supported by an excellent performance by 3 of the Under 12 team, Waun fought hard and really deserved to cross the line for their efforts.
Highlight of the day was second row Jack Phipps backtracking 50 m to bring down the Gorseinon right wing , who must have thought the try was in the bab. Hooker Marley Bushell, who had himself made a great effort to get back; bundled him in to touch, with all of the customary style that is expected of a member of the front row union!
In the second half Waun produced some great driving movements and were extremely unlucky not to open their account!
Centres Jack Ryan and Ben Stead were very prominent in the second half and scrum half Sol Richardson produced a Man of the Match performance for his all round contribution to the game!
Once gain the Waunarlwydd parents wer a credit to our club and the support of the coaches and first team players was a key factor. Credit must be given to the Gorseinon team and coaches for the quality of rugby thaey produced and the sporting way the game was played!
